Halifax Minibus Rental, Driver Included
Halifax is a harbour city with the South Shore and the Annapolis Valley on its doorstep. A minibus or Sprinter with a driver lets your group see the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove and the old South Shore towns in one comfortable day, and get back for dinner on the waterfront.
From Stanfield into town
Halifax Stanfield International sits about 35 km up Highway 102 from downtown, around 35 minutes when traffic is light. There's no published coach staging area at the airport; drivers meeting arrivals use the Standby Lot, then come to the terminal curb, which is for quick pickups only.
Staying in Dartmouth? The Macdonald and MacKay bridges have had no tolls since 17 March 2025, so hopping across the harbour is simple.

When your ship docks
Piers 20 and 22 are the main cruise berths. Vehicles collecting shore-excursion guests wait at Pavilion 20, or out front of Pavilion 22. Also at the Seaport is Pier 21, home of the Canadian Museum of Immigration, worth an hour if your family's story passed through it.

Arriving by ship
Peggy's Cove without the crowds
Peggy's Cove is about 45 minutes to an hour away via Highway 103 and Highway 333. Parking can be tight between 11:00 and 15:00, so an early or late visit is more relaxed. Please keep off residents' private property; people live and work here.
For grandparents and wheelchair users, there's a viewing deck reached by long, shallow ramps, plus accessible parking and washrooms.
The South Shore and the Valley
An hour's drive gets you to Mahone Bay or to Lunenburg, whose old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and either pairs well with Peggy's Cove in one loop. In the Annapolis Valley, Wolfville and Grand Pré are also about an hour out, and Annapolis Royal about two.
In town, the Citadel, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, the Public Gardens and the waterfront boardwalk are close together.
Your questions
We're on a cruise. Can a driver meet us at the ship?
Yes. Tour vehicles wait at Pavilion 20 or in front of Pavilion 22 at the Seaport. Tell us your ship, pier and all-aboard time so the day is planned backwards from it.
Is Peggy's Cove suitable for someone in a wheelchair?
Largely, yes: ramps to the viewing deck are long and shallow, and the parking and washrooms are accessible. If you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle too, tell us when you book so we can ask operators for one.
Can we fit Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg into one day?
Yes. Both are about an hour from Halifax, so a loop with lunch in Mahone Bay or Lunenburg works well.
