Calgary Minibus and Sprinter Rental
Calgary is where many Rocky Mountain trips begin, and a minibus or Sprinter with a driver is an easy way to see the mountains without anyone missing the view from behind the wheel. We book the vehicle and driver through licensed partner operators and plan the day around the park rules.
From YYC to your hotel
Calgary International is about 19 km by road from City Hall, around 20 minutes when traffic is light. Your driver collects you on the Arrivals level from one of 38 bus bays opposite the terminal; the airport hands out bays in order of flight arrival.
There's no CTrain link to the airport, so for a family reunion or a team with gear bags, being met by your own vehicle saves a lot of juggling.

Into Banff National Park
Banff is about 1.5 hours west and Lake Louise about two. Parks Canada requires a pass for every visitor, and that includes people riding in a bus. Once a commercially registered vehicle carries 11 people or more, counting the driver, it also needs a park business licence and must show a commercial entry pass. Most group Sprinters and minibuses fall into that category.
At the Lake Louise lakeshore, a commercial vehicle gets up to 10 minutes to let you off or pick you up; parking there works on a first-come basis, and there's no left turn out of the lot. Private cars can't drive the Moraine Lake Road at all. Operators going up need a licence of occupation, and for the 2026 season applications ran from January to April; that season on the road runs from about 1 June to mid-October, weather permitting. If Moraine Lake matters to you, tell us at the start.

Other good days out
Canmore and Kananaskis Village each take about 1.25 hours. Dinosaur-mad kids will love Drumheller's Royal Tyrrell Museum, about 1.5 hours out. Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is about two hours south. In town, Heritage Park and WinSport Canada Olympic Park suit a relaxed half day.
Your questions
Can our driver park on the roadside for photos in the park?
No. Parking on road shoulders in Banff is illegal, and a business licence gives no priority for parking. Your driver stops only where stopping is allowed.
Do we need to buy park passes ourselves?
Yes, each person needs one. For groups, Banff's group and commercial tours office can set up group daily rates; ask us how it will work for your trip.
Can we go to Moraine Lake in 2027?
Only with an operator holding the Moraine Lake Road licence, and only 2026 details are published so far. We'll check what applies when you enquire.
