Getting Your Colleagues There Together

A team offsite or a client day works best when everyone arrives at once, relaxed and already talking, rather than scattered across a dozen rideshares. Tell us who is coming and where the day goes, and we'll find a licensed operator to suit.

Smaller teams, smaller vehicles

For a leadership group of ten or a sales team of eighteen, a Sprinter-style van or a minibus is usually the easier choice. A Sprinter typically seats 17 to 19 with bags behind the last row, and a minibus usually 16 to 19. Both slip into hotel driveways and winery lanes where a full-size coach would be left waiting on the street.

Conference weeks in the big centres

Convention shuttles usually loop between a few hotels and one venue, such as the Metro Toronto Convention Centre beside the CN Tower, the Vancouver Convention Centre on Coal Harbour, the Palais des congrès in Montreal or the BMO Centre at Stampede Park. Send the hotel list and session times, and the loop follows when people actually need to move.

In Toronto, a bus may stop to load where parking or standing is otherwise banned, but it can't park there to wait for you. If dinner runs late, the driver waits somewhere legal and comes back at the agreed time.

Rules worth knowing

  • Under federal hours of service, drivers of extra-provincial buses may not drive after 13 h of driving or 14 h on duty in a day
  • Federally regulated buses must carry a certified electronic logging device, with limited exceptions
  • In Ontario, operators of buses carrying 10 or more passengers need a CVOR certificate

When the program crosses a provincial line

Say an Ottawa team finishes the day with dinner on the Gatineau side, in Quebec. That short hop crosses a provincial line, which brings in federal hours of service: a daily cap of 13 hours driving and 14 on duty, with at least 10 hours off. A program that never leaves one province runs under provincial rules instead, and the operator fits the driver's day to them.

For a long day, from breakfast pickup to late gala, share the whole timetable. The operator can then tell you whether one driver covers it or a second driver is needed.

Your questions

Can the same vehicle stay with us all day?

Yes, if you book it that way. The quote covers the hours you need, including the waiting time between runs.

Our guests land on different flights. Can you help?

Send the arrivals list. Pickups can be grouped by landing time, and a Sprinter is often the right size for each wave.

Who holds the licences?

The partner operator. In Ontario, anyone running a bus that carries 10 or more passengers needs a CVOR certificate, and carriers working across provincial lines need a safety fitness certificate issued by a province.

Is the vehicle checked before the day starts?

In Ontario, a bus driver may not set off unless the vehicle has been inspected, with a report completed, within the previous 24 hours.
