Hamilton airport pickups for groups and visitors
Hamilton's airport is out at Mount Hope, handy for Highway 403 and a good alternative to Pearson for trips to Hamilton and Niagara. It's small, so your pickup is close to the door.
Arranged ahead, not on the day
Limousines and shuttles here don't run on a timetable; they're arranged directly with the provider. Taxis have their own zone, directly over the street from the Arrivals doors. The airport doesn't publish a coach staging area, so ask for the exact meeting spot to be written into your confirmation.

To the city, Toronto or the Falls
Hamilton City Hall is about 15 km away by road, a drive of around 20 minutes when traffic is light. Hotels up on Hamilton Mountain along Upper James are nearest; downtown around King Street and Jackson Square, Stoney Creek and Burlington are further along. The airport is about 64 km south-west of Toronto, while Niagara Falls lies roughly 70 km, an hour's drive, from Hamilton.
Downtown, the Metrolinx LRT works along King and Main streets can alter routes and curb access, so set-down points are checked against current closures.
The terminals
- Single passenger terminal
Good to know at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport
- The airport advises pre-arranging taxis, shuttles and other transportation when an accessible vehicle is needed.
- HSR A Line Express (Route 20) runs between the airport and downtown Hamilton, including the Hamilton GO Centre.
- The airport is in Mount Hope, easily reached from Highway 403, and about 64 km southwest of Toronto.
Right next door
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, with aircraft that still fly, is beside the airport: an easy first stop for a club or a family with aviation fans. The Royal Botanical Gardens are about 8 km from Hamilton and African Lion Safari about 30 km, and either makes a gentle first afternoon for visitors who have just flown in.
Your questions
Is there public transport into Hamilton?
Yes: HSR's A Line Express (Route 20) links the terminal with downtown and stops at the Hamilton GO Centre. It's fine for one person; a group heading to a single hotel or venue is simpler in one vehicle.
Someone in our group needs an accessible vehicle. What should we do?
The airport recommends booking ahead whenever an accessible vehicle is needed, whether that's a taxi or a shuttle. Put it on your quote request and the operator is asked to find a vehicle that fits.
Does Hamilton work for a Niagara wedding?
Often, yes. Niagara-on-the-Lake is about 75 km from Hamilton, about an hour. Every bus there parks at the coach facility by Fort George and may set down only at approved venues, so share the venue names early.
How far is Pearson if our flights change?
Toronto Pearson is about 70 km from downtown Hamilton, around 50 to 60 minutes.
