London, Ontario airport pickups for your group
London International sits north-east of the city, about 20 minutes from downtown. It's a quiet, small airport, which makes meeting a group easy, as long as nobody expects to park out front.
Outside the terminal
Licensed taxi and limousine services work from outside the terminal, and rideshare drivers stop at the north end of the sidewalk, by the arrivals door. Nobody may park in front of the terminal; anyone meeting a flight waits in the cell phone lot or parks in the main lot across the road. With a terminal this size, it is a short walk from the arrivals door to wherever your vehicle is waiting.
No coach staging area is published, so the spot where your minibus meets you is agreed beforehand. Once you have it, drop it into the family group chat before anyone boards the plane.

Into London
City Hall is about 11 km by road, roughly 20 minutes in light traffic. Hotels downtown on York, King and Dundas streets, along Wellington Road near Highway 401, or up by Masonville and Western University are the common picks.
Coming for a Knights game at Canada Life Place, or a conference at RBC Place London? Coaches can't use the convention centre's underground parking, where clearance is limited to 2.13 m; set-down is at the main entrance on York Street or the south entrance on King Street.

Crossing the border by road
The airport doesn't currently have U.S. preclearance. For a day across the border, Sarnia and the Blue Water Bridge are about 100 km from London, around an hour, and Windsor and Detroit about 190 km, around two hours. The Gordie Howe International Bridge opened to traffic on 27 July 2026, adding a third crossing at Windsor. Each traveller must carry documents that both Canada and the U.S. accept.
Your questions
Is there transit to and from the airport?
London Transit buses call at the airport, and there's a daily service to and from Sarnia. Handy for a single traveller; for a group, one vehicle is simpler.
What's an easy outing from London?
Port Stanley on Lake Erie is about 45 km, around 40 minutes. Grand Bend and Stratford are each about 60 km, just under an hour.
How far is Pearson if some of us fly in there?
Toronto Pearson is about 180 km from London, around two hours via Highway 401. A minibus can collect those relatives there and bring them the rest of the way.
