Saskatoon minibus trips along the river and out onto the prairie
Saskatoon's riverbank galleries and heritage sites sit close together, and open prairie starts minutes from downtown. A minibus or Sprinter with a driver keeps your family, team or tour group together for all of it.
Start with Wanuskewin
Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a Northern Plains Indigenous heritage site on Highway 11, is about 20 minutes from downtown. It has motorcoach parking and takes guided groups of anywhere from 10 to 160 people, booked in advance, so reserve your visit first and build the day around it.
Back in town, Remai Modern sits on the riverbank, the Western Development Museum recreates a 1910 boomtown street, and the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo is a relaxed family afternoon. The Meewasin Valley trails follow the river through the city, and the Diefenbaker Canada Centre is on the university campus.

Longer prairie days
An hour's drive gets you to Batoche National Historic Site. Allow roughly 90 minutes for Manitou Beach on Little Manitou Lake, and about two and a half hours if you're heading up to Prince Albert National Park at Waskesiu. Regina is a similar distance, which makes a two-city trip easy to plan.

How the city shapes your route
A city bylaw keeps vehicles over 5,000 kg off Saskatchewan Crescent where it runs between the two bridges, Broadway and University, and off part of St. Henry Avenue. The 23rd Street bus mall downtown belongs to Saskatoon Transit, and a vehicle can use a hotel loading zone for up to 15 minutes. None of that should trouble you; it just explains why your driver may take a slightly different line.
Games and shows
Up to about 15,000 fans fill SaskTel Centre for the Blades, the Rush and the Mamba. TCU Place downtown has the 2,074-seat Sid Buckwold Theatre, and Prairieland Park handles trade shows. Coming in for a tournament? The driver can shuttle the team between hotel and arena on your schedule, with room for the kit.
Your questions
How long is the ride from Saskatoon airport?
About 7 km, roughly 15 minutes to downtown. Because YXE is private property, pickups there are limited to authorized parties, so we match you with an operator authorized to work there.
Do we need to change our watches?
Maybe. Saskatchewan keeps Central Standard Time all year, matching Alberta in summer and Manitoba in winter, so double-check connection times.
Where should a visiting group stay?
Hotels along the riverbank on Spadina Crescent keep you near Remai Modern and TCU Place, while the Airport Drive and Circle Drive hotels suit an early flight.
Can a small group visit Wanuskewin?
Yes, guided groups start at 10 people. Book ahead and let us know the time.
