Coach Hire Canada

From the Ship to the Hotel, Together

After a week at sea, nobody wants a scramble for taxis with suitcases in tow. A pre-booked minibus or Sprinter meets your group at the terminal and carries everyone on to the airport, the hotel or a first afternoon of sightseeing.

Sailing from Canada Place

In Vancouver, vehicles enter Canada Place down the Howe Street ramp, a traffic attendant directs each one to a lane, and groups board in the P1 orange zone. Alaska-bound passengers clear U.S. customs at Canada Place before boarding, and baggage check opens around 10:00 to 10:30, so leave room for both when you set the hotel pickup time.

Victoria, Halifax, Quebec City and Montreal

Each port controls its curb differently, which is why a pickup has to be arranged ahead rather than improvised. At Ogden Point in Victoria, no vehicle may collect passengers without a terminal decal, and buses wait only in their designated area. In Halifax, tour buses and limousines load right outside Pavilions 20 and 22.

In Quebec City, only authorized vehicles enter Wharf 30 during the season, and the port advises reaching the wharf at least two hours before the ship leaves. Montreal's Grand Quay terminals are at 200 De la Commune Street West, with Terminal 3 reached through the Berri entrance.

Rules worth knowing

  • Canada Place pick-ups are in the orange zone on P1; pre-booked limousines check in at Door D
  • In Halifax, tour buses, taxis and limousines load directly in front of Pavilions 20 and 22
  • The Port of Québec recommends arriving at the wharf at least 2 hours before departure

Linking the flight and the ship

Many sailings begin or end in Canada, so a transfer often joins a flight to a ship. Vancouver's airport is about 15 km from Canada Place, Montréal-Trudeau about 20 km from the Grand Quay, and Halifax Stanfield some 35 to 40 km from the Seaport.

Send the ship's name, the sailing date and everyone's flight times, and the pickups are set around them.

Your questions

How much luggage fits in a minibus?

Less than you might expect once every seat is taken. A group of sixteen with two cases each may be better off in a midi coach with underfloor bays.

What if the ship is late getting in?

Give us the ship's name so the operator can follow its arrival. Waiting time and changes follow the terms on your quote.

Could we do a shore excursion instead?

Yes. On a port day in Halifax, groups often head for Peggy's Cove or Lunenburg. Leave plenty of slack before the all-aboard time.
