An Executive Car for the Guests of Honour

Sometimes the smallest vehicle carries the most important people. An executive sedan or SUV with a driver takes one to three passengers, and pairs well with a minibus carrying everyone else.

Good reasons to add a car

The couple slipping away from the ceremony ahead of the guests, grandparents who'd rather skip the shuttle, a keynote speaker landing on a different flight from the rest of the team. A car lets the few travel on their own timing while the group moves together.

Pick an SUV if there is more to carry. A sedan's trunk fills quickly once golf bags or a dress box go in.

Licensed city by city

Chauffeured cars are licensed locally, and the rules differ. Toronto asks for a City of Toronto limousine owner's licence, plus a vehicle-for-hire licence for whoever drives. British Columbia puts taxis and limousines for up to 10 occupants, counting the driver, under class 4, with a special authorization licence on top. Québec wants SAAQ authorization for the driver, and an owner's permit and mechanical inspections for the car.

On board

  • At Toronto Pearson, pre-arranged pick-ups need a per-trip GTAA Service Permit
  • Toronto: limousines need a City of Toronto limousine owner's licence, and drivers a vehicle-for-hire licence
  • Québec: drivers need SAAQ authorization and the vehicle needs an owner's permit and mechanical inspections
  • BC: taxis and limousines carrying up to 10 people, including the driver, need a class 4 licence and a special authorization licence
  • Chauffeur-driven premium sedan or SUV

Meeting you off the plane

Pearson's meeting point for pre-arranged cars is Door A, in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 alike, and the operator needs a GTAA Service Permit for every trip. At Vancouver, the terminal curb is reserved for approved commercial operators. Tell us the flight number and it is passed to the driver.

Your questions

How many people fit?

One to three passengers in comfort. For four or more, or a lot of luggage, a Sprinter is usually the better choice.

Can the driver wait during a meeting?

Yes, if you book the car by the hour. Tell us roughly how long you expect to be inside.

Is a car a good choice for the wedding couple?

Yes, and it pairs well with a guest shuttle: the couple ride in the car while guests follow in a minibus or Sprinter, so the two of them can arrive last and leave first.

Can we book a car and a minibus together?

Yes. One quote can cover both, timed so they reach the venue in the order you want.
