Halifax Seaport to Peggy's Cove and Beyond
Halifax is an easy port to step off in: the terminals are a short walk from downtown and vehicles load right out front. With a minibus or Sprinter waiting, your group can be standing by the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove within about an hour.
Meeting your driver at the pier
You'll find the terminals where the waterfront ends in the south. Tour buses, taxis and limousines all load right outside them, with shore-excursion buses waiting at Pavilion 20 and outside Pavilion 22. Pavilion 20 itself, an open and barrier-free hall built for gathering tours, makes a good place to count heads.
Beyond that, the port publishes nothing precise on coach staging, so the operator confirms the meeting spot for your ship. With up to four ships in on busy days, knowing your driver's name and the vehicle's description saves wandering.

The cove, the South Shore and the valley
The road out to Peggy's Cove runs via Highway 103 and Highway 333, and the midday hours from 11:00 to 15:00 are when parking gets scarce, so set off after breakfast rather than after lunch. People live in the village, and visitors are asked to stay off their property. Long, gentle ramps lead to an accessible viewing deck, useful if anyone walks with a cane or uses a wheelchair.
Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage old town, and Mahone Bay are each about an hour out, so a long call can pair the cove in the morning with the South Shore after lunch. Wolfville, Grand Pré and the Annapolis Valley are another hour-long run.

Starting or finishing your cruise here
Some cruises start or end here rather than just calling for the day, and the season stretches from spring into November. The airport, Halifax Stanfield, lies 35 to 40 km from the piers, some 35 to 45 minutes by road. The airport names no place for coaches to stage, though drivers can use a standby lot while they wait, then come to the arrivals curb.
Your questions
Is the Canadian Museum of Immigration nearby?
Yes. It's at Pier 21, right beside the cruise terminals, an easy visit on a short call or while you wait to board.
How busy does the port get?
Very, in autumn. September 2026 alone was set to bring more than 60 ships, and on some days up to four at once. On days like that, book early and allow for waterfront traffic.
Is there time for the cove and Lunenburg on one call?
Often, if the ship is in for most of the day. Each is roughly an hour from the terminals, so share your docking and all-aboard times and the quote will show a realistic loop.
