Winnipeg Minibus and Sprinter Rental

Winnipeg is compact at its heart and wide open around it, so a small group gets a lot out of one vehicle and a driver who does the navigating. From the airport to The Forks, a Jets game or a beach on Lake Winnipeg, we arrange minibus rental with a driver, or a Sprinter, through licensed partner operators.

A short hop from the airport

Winnipeg Richardson International is close to the centre: about 12 km by road to Portage and Main, roughly 20 minutes in light traffic. Pre-arranged vehicles collect passengers at the commercial curb on Arrivals Level 1.

Nobody may park or wait in front of the terminal, so drivers time their arrival to your landing or hold in the free Cell Phone Lot on Wellington Avenue. If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair, there are accessible pick-up spots along the median on Arrivals Level 1.

The Forks and the museum

The Forks, where the Red and Assiniboine rivers meet, is the natural first stop. Vehicles can drop off and pick up on site, but there's no bus parking there, so your driver leaves and comes back at the agreed time.

Next door, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights welcomes groups at 85 Israel Asper Way, the Group Entrance. There's no dedicated museum parking, so the vehicle parks elsewhere and may return to the set-down area 15 minutes before your program ends.

For families, the polar bears at Assiniboine Park Zoo's Journey to Churchill, the Royal Canadian Mint and the bison at FortWhyte Alive are all good picks.

Lakes, marshes and history nearby

Lower Fort Garry is about 30 minutes north and Oak Hammock Marsh about 35. Steinbach's Mennonite Heritage Village is roughly 45 minutes away, and both Gimli and Grand Beach, on Lake Winnipeg, around an hour, perfect for a summer reunion. Riding Mountain National Park is about three hours, better with an overnight.

Your questions

Can we cross into North Dakota for a day?

Yes. For Grand Forks or Fargo, you'll cross the border at Emerson, heading down Highway 75. Adults who are Canadian citizens show a passport, an enhanced licence or a NEXUS card at the land border; kids under 16, or under 19 with a school or youth group, bring proof of citizenship.

Can the driver be waiting when our museum visit ends?

Yes. The vehicle may come back to the set-down area 15 minutes before your program finishes, so give us the end time when you book.

What vehicle suits a team of 18 with kit bags?

A 16 to 19 seat minibus, though luggage space shrinks when every seat is taken. Tell us about the bags and we may suggest something larger.
